BioSketch

I began in medical transcription nearly 20 years ago as a transcriptionist. I feel very fortunate to have found such a fascinating field with so much potential for growth and innovation. My background was business, having worked in a family newspaper business, international trading business, fitness business, and several retail ventures. I brought my business experience to medical transcription and today NEMT has a staff of over 200. Someone once said to me ‘being in business is like having shifting sand under your feet.’ - Pretty apt description of the medical transcription industry. That’s one of the things I most enjoy about this field – there are opportunities occurring all the time. I feel that companies providing patient documentation have a responsibility beyond just doing a good job. Patient lives may literally hang in the balance. We need to take that notion seriously.

MTIA, as the voice for our industry, clearly takes this responsibility seriously. I am a 100% believer in the MTIA mission statement and would be privileged to be able to take my personal commitment to this ideal and contribute to MTIA’s efforts for the integrity of all clinical documentation.
