Mission Statement

The following mission statement and goals were developed by the MTIA board of directors in January 2001 and ratified by the MTIA membership at the April 2001 MTIA Annual Meeting.

MTIA's mission is:
To create the environment in which our members can prosper, grow, and deliver the highest level of healthcare-documentation services.

The goals and objectives of MTIA's strategic plan to accomplish this mission are:

1. Optimize organizational operations.
2. Maintain the appropriate financial condition needed to achieve the MTIA mission.
3. Maximize long-term demand for outsourced medical documentation.
4. Within appropriate industry segments, maximize the value and perceived value of MTIA membership.
5. Establish MTIA as the recognized industry authority.
6. Develop effective relationships with relevant organizations.
7. Optimize industry appreciation of the medical language specialist.
8. As medical-documentation technologies and the healthcare market evolve, assure that MTIA members have the requisite knowledge to continue to be successful.
